National reports
In collaboration with the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland and with the support of the working group "Access to national jurisprudence" of the Council of the European Union, the ACA-Europe held on 30 September 2011 a seminar in Warsaw. This seminar, organized with the support of the European Commission, brought together many participants from the member Courts of the ACA-Europe and held in the buildings of the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Yves KREINS, Secretary General of the ACA-Europe, the seminar was pleased to host the Secretary of State for Justice of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Grzegorz WALEJKO (left on the picture) and the President of the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland, Mr. Roman HAUSER (right on the picture).
Among the various items on the programme, a special mention should be reserved for presentations by Marc VAN OPIJNEN, Senior adviser legal informatics, IT-department of the Netherlands Council for the Judiciary. Indeed, he can be considered as the spiritual father of the ECLI project and its brilliant interventions have attracted participants.
The other presentations proved to be just as interesting and one should emphasize the quality of speakers: Mr. Stéphane Cottin, Special Adviser to the Office of the Secretary General of Government (Improvement and appreciation of Information Systems and Resources - France), Mr. Joaquín SILGUERO ESTAGNAN, Director of the Spanish National Institute on Case Law CENDOJ of the General Council of the Judiciary (Spain), Mr. Baudouin Gielen, Head of Unit at the European Court of Justice and Mr Nicolas LIEBER, Head of the Section Support – Broadcast sites – at the Office for Official Publications of the European Union.
Conclusions and future developments have been prepared by Mr. Fernando Paulino Pereira, Chair of the Working Party on e-Law and e-Justice, Head of Unit at the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU, and Mrs Saskia KLEINE-Tebbe, Unit B2 – Criminal law – DG Justice of the European Commission.
